Home for Warriors - Hero Inauguration

Palm Bay-FL

Held today was the inauguration of Home for Warriors recipient -Hero Sgt Justin Burdette and family at their new home. There was a huge spirit of patriotism and community in the air.  The inauguration was followed by   grand community celebration a barbeque at his new home at 250 Crosspoint Street, Palm Bay, Florida .  People packed in down the streets walking to participate in the celebration and Ribbon cutting.

The Burdette Family Home

David Isnardi Vice Chair of Space coastparatroopers stated. "It took approx. 8 weeks and 65% of the community pitched in " all volunteers “ to complete the home. He went on to say that Bob Williams NSP City of Palm Bay choreographed everything.

Bob Williams, City of Palm Bay Housing and Neighborhood Development stated, that almost the entire community pitched in some way, most especially many local small businesses.  He went on to emphasize. No matter how big or how small, even a donation of  “ one paint brush”, was recognized as a labor of love.

When chatting with Mr.. Williams I could sense the humbleness and passion that he is genuinely a man that cares about everyone in the Palm Bay community from our hero’s and residents, to small businesses alike.

Rob Medina, community relations for Congressman Bill Posey’s gave the invocation. As always, Rob was filled with Gods passion and power each time I see him .  Walking around the yard I asked about the wooden eagle in the back yard. Rob Stated it was a donation made by hand from one of the community volunteers.

Toward the end, I was a little nervous to go inside, as I did not want to disturb the SGT in his new home. It was with great joy that I think I found him in his most favorite room.

A room displaying some of his greatest captures as he has a great love for hunting, he was standing near a very cool chair recliner that was donated by Pro bass.  What a humble man that served our country, we both seemed lost for words, " He stated I am so happy".  While in his presence it was evident how honored SGT Burdette was to serve America and how grateful he was that his community had given him a new lease on life.
